As many of you probably experience and feel yourselves, i am sick to death of my new tracks being leaked onto file sharing forums or between mp3 kiddies over msn before the track has even been pressed / signed. To make matters worse the source of these leaks is someone i'm trusting with promo's of my work to play out in the clubs / radio to get the hype going.

So i searched high and low about digitally watermarking tracks. This way i could make a unique watermark for each mp3 / promo i send to each club & radio DJ. I found a few programs, some wanting hundreds of pounds to implement such a thing. Then by luck i found a free research application by Microsoft (of all people ! ha). The application embeds a hexadecimal code your choose into the track. Audio-wise this code can not be heard at all. Once the .wav file has been embedded it can then be encoded into mp3 or burned onto a CD as a audio track. It's super quick, therefore you can watermark a track multiple times very quickly.
