Vote this one up, because this may well be one of the best pages I have found for a while! Yes, it's ugly but this is a very comprehensive list of not only FREE soft synths, but also VST's that happen to sound incredible.

This is a great find. The KVR Audio VST challenge has produced some great looking and sounding and free FX.
